apple crisp

I made this apple crisp with green apples, but my guess is that you could use whatever type of apple you choose. I've made these without peeling the apples before, but totally prefer them peeled. I find that the apples are a little bit crisper if left unpeeled. I also added applesauce to sweeten up this dish as well as keep it moist inside and distribute the flavor. And all topped with granola. You can diy your own granola or get store bought. Serve it warm and add your favorite vegan ice cream or make your own nice cream.

ingredients:
  • 5 medium sized apples

  • 1 cup applesauce

  • 1 1/2 cups granola

  • 1 tbsp. cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar on top

directions:
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350

  2. Peel and cut apples into pieces and put into bowl. Add applesauce, cinnamon, nutmeg and 1/2 cup of the granola. Stir all ingredients together to combine.

  3. Spread out evenly into 9X8 baking dish and then cover with remaining granola and sprinkle top with brown sugar.

  4. Bake for 30-35 minutes.

  5. Serve warm with vegan ice cream.
