green smoothie

Don't let this kale filled, iron packed, green smoothie fool you into thinking that this isn't going to taste good. It is delicious, and its fruity flavors will have you keeping kale and frozen fruit on hand at all times. All you need is some frozen fruit, kale, and plant based milk. Give it a try!

  • 1 frozen banana

  • 1/2 cup frozen mango

  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple 

  • 2 cups raw kale

  • 1 cup non dairy milk

  • 2 tbsp hemp seeds (optional)

  • juice of one lemon

  1. In high speed blender, add in frozen banana, half of the kale, half of the milk, mango, and pineapple. Add juice of lemon and hemp seeds. Blend smooth. Be sure to blend so that it is smooth with no clumps of kale or chunks of fruit.

  2. Add in the rest of the kale and non dairy milk and blend again til smooth.

  3. Pour yourself a glass and enjoy this iron rich smoothie packed with vitamin C and protein.


The easiest way to blend this smoothie is to add a small amount of fruit first, add in some of the non dairy milk, then kale and hemp seeds. Frozen fruit is the key to making this cold and creamy. Blend. Add more fruit, more kale, and more non dairy milk and blend again. If it is too thick, add more milk to thin it out. Making sure it's mixed and blended well. The more kale, the better!
